The high-profile seat Mumbai South has become a bone of contention between the BJP and Shiv Sena. BJP is keen to field Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar or Maharashtra Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha from here. When both the parties were in alliance, BJP had left this seat for undivided Shiv Sena, hence she wants BJP to win this seat. The alliance has not yet announced candidates for two more seats in the Mumbai division. Pawar had expressed his wish that Prithviraj Chavan should contest this seat on trumpet symbol. But due to Chavan’s refusal, Shashikant Shinde finally got the nomination.

Shiv Sena and BJP are at loggerheads over seat sharing in Palghar. Hitendra Thakur’s Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) has provided outside support to the state government. However, they are keen to field their candidate on this seat.

Ch. Sambhajinagar is considered a traditional constituency of Shiv Sena. Eknath Shinde has claimed this place. Amit Shah had appealed to send Kamal to Lok Sabha on this seat. From then till today the mystery of this place has not been solved. After the division of Shiv Sena, Uddhav Thackeray group won. The Grand Alliance has not been able to find an alternative to Chandrakant Khaire till now. Khaire had lost to AIMIM’s sitting MP Imtiaz Jaleel in 2019. Shiv Sena (Ubhatha) has made him the candidate from this seat. The alliance is undecided about the venue.
